Resolute (https://www.resedsolutions.com) is based in Detroit, and has worked with clients in Michigan and across the country offering technical assistance, professional development, and program review/evaluation services. Resolute’s mission is to serve as a thought partner and support structure for preK-12 school districts, the U.S. Department of Education, and non-profit entities that offer educational programs and services - and specifically to help these partners facilitate improvement of their practices, procedures, and policies to support students’ achievement and equitable access to educational opportunities. The firm is unique in that it functions as a partner to its clients, not simply as a provider of services. The result is a collaborative, trusting partnership that produces substantial improvements in student outcomes.
Dr. Phillip Caldwell serves as President for Resolute Educational Solutions and in his role as President, he is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the firm by establishing long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies which help Resolute’s partners foster more equitable educational opportunities for their students. Dr. Caldwell draws upon both his educational training and his background as a former classroom teacher in his daily work with clients. At UW-Madison, he worked with some of the most dedicated and accomplished educational scholars in the country during his doctoral studies in the top-ranked Department of Curriculum and Instruction, including Drs. Carl Grant, Gloria Ladson-Billings, Beth Graue, Mitch Nathan, and William “Bill” Tate (Washington University). These are all colleagues with whom Dr. Caldwell regularly consults in seeking ways to improve educational achievement through programs and policies to promote educational equity. Dr. Caldwell has a passion and commitment for high-quality teaching, continued professional development, and building innovative solutions to the problems plaguing K12 education and youth, particularly in urban settings.
